BIRKAT HACHAMAH -- Blessing on the Sun

BIRKAT HACHAMAH

This year there is a special event called Birkat Hachamah--The Blessing on the Sun.  This event happens the morning of Apr. 8--the morning of Passover. Birkat Hachamah occurs once every 28 years.  It occurs when the sun reaches the same position in the sky as the day it was created & on the same day it was created.  The same position and the same day (4th day of the week) as at creation.

This event lines up with Passover this year, and we strongly believe that the two events also lined up at the time Messiah died on the stake, making this Passover season extremely special.  Praise YAHUAH our El for His marvelous work of creation!

YAHUAH is continually creating:

"YAHUAH creates, YAHUAH has created, YAHUAH shall forever create!"

We look forward to this special day because on it YAH will do a special work of creation. He will create new life--redeeming His chosen ones and bringing them into a new life in HimYAH will work redemption this Passover!  He will create life!  Praise YAH for His work of creation, Praise YAHUAH for His continual work of creation and redemption!

For Birkat Hachamah, we will say a special blessing in the morning, read a few Tehillim/Psalms, and pray.  This is a very special event that our Jewish brothers will be gathering in LARGE numbers to observe.  Just think of it:  thousands of people all around the world standing to bless our Creator on the same day!  So gather your family and friends and bless YAH for the new life He creates each and every day and for the new life He will create for you!  HALLELUYAH!

Prayers & Blessings of the Day:

Tehillim/Psalm 148:1-6:  Praise Yah! Praise יהוה from the heavens, Praise Him in the heights!  (2)  Praise Him, all His messengers; Praise Him, all His hosts!  (3)  Praise Him, sun and moon; Praise Him, all you stars of light!  (4)  Praise Him, heavens of heavens, And you waters above the heavens!  (5)  Let them praise the Name of יהוה, For He commanded and they were created.  (6)  And He established them forever and ever, He gave a law and they pass not beyond.

The Blessings:

בָּרוּךְ אַתָּה יהוה , אֱלֹהֵינוּ מֶלֶךְ הָעוֹלָם, עֹשֵׂה מַעֲשֵׂה בְרֵאשִׁית:

Ba-rooch  ah-tah  YAHUAH  Eh-lo-hay-nu  Meh-lech  ha-o-lahm,  o-say  mah-ah-say  v-ray-sheet.

Blessed are You, YAHUAH our Elohim, Sovereign of the universe, Who re-enacts the work of Creation.

Ba-rooch  ah-tah  YAHUAH  Eh-lo-hay-noo  Meh-lech  ha-o-lahm,  sheh-heh-cheh-yah-noo  v-kee-y’-mah-noo  v-hee-gee-ah-noo  leez-mahn  hah-zeh.

Blessed are You, YAHUAH our Elohim, Sovereign of the universe, Who has kept us alive, sustained us, and brought us to this season.

Blessed are You, YAHUAH our Elohim, Sovereign of the universe, Who created all through YAHUSHUAH Messiah. Because in Him were created all that are in the heavens and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or rulerships or principalities or authorities--all have been created through Him and for Him.

“You are worthy, O יהוה, to receive esteem and respect and power, for You have created all, and because of Your desire they are, and were created.”  (Rev 4:11)

Tehillim 19:1-14:  The heavens are proclaiming the esteem of Ěl; And the expanse is declaring the work of His hand.  (2)  Day to day pours forth speech, And night to night reveals knowledge.  (3)  There is no speech, and there are no words, Their voice is not heard.  (4)  Their line has gone out through all the earth, And their words to the end of the world. In them He set up a tent for the sun,  (5)  And it is like a bridegroom coming out of his room, It rejoices like a strong man to run the path.  (6)  Its rising is from one end of the heavens, And its circuit to the other end; And naught is hidden from its heat.  (7)  The Torah of יהוה is perfect, bringing back the being; The witness of יהוה is trustworthy, making wise the simple;  (8)  The orders of יהוה are straight, rejoicing the heart; The command of יהוה is clear, enlightening the eyes;  (9)  The fear of יהוה is clean, standing forever; The right-rulings of יהוה are true, They are righteous altogether,  (10)  More desirable than gold, Than much fine gold; And sweeter than honey and the honeycomb.  (11)  Also, Your servant is warned by them, In guarding them there is great reward.  (12)  Who discerns mistakes? Declare me innocent from those that are secret,  (13)  Also keep Your servant back from presumptuous ones, Do not let them rule over me. Then shall I be perfect, and innocent of great transgression.  (14)  Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart Be pleasing before You, O יהוה, my rock and my redeemer.

Tehillim 121:1-8:  I lift up my eyes to the hills; Where does my help come from?  (2)  My help comes from יהוה, Maker of the heavens and earth.  (3)  He does not allow your foot to be moved; He who watches over you does not slumber.  (4)  See, He who is guarding Yisra’ĕl Neither slumbers nor sleeps.  (5)  יהוה is your guard; יהוה is your shade at your right hand.  (6)  The sun does not strike you by day, Nor the moon by night.  (7)  יהוה guards you from all evil; He guards your being.  (8)  יהוה guards your going out and your coming in Now and forever.

Tehillim 150:1-6:  Praise Yah! Praise Ěl in His set-apart place; Praise Him in His mighty expanse!  (2)  Praise Him for His mighty acts; Praise Him according to His excellent greatness!  (3)  Praise Him with the blowing of the ram’s horn; Praise Him with the harp and lyre!  (4)  Praise Him with tambourine and dance; Praise Him with stringed instruments and flutes!  (5)  Praise Him with sounding cymbals; Praise Him with resounding cymbals!  (6)  Let all that have breath praise Yah. Praise Yah!

Tehillim 67:1-7:  Elohim does favour us and bless us, Cause His face to shine upon us. Selah.  (2)  For Your way to be known on earth, Your deliverance among all nations.  (3)  Let the peoples praise You, O Elohim, Let all the peoples praise You.  (4)  Let the nations be glad and sing for joy! For You judge the peoples uprightly, And lead the nations on earth. Selah.  (5)  Let the peoples praise You, O Elohim; Let all the peoples praise You.  (6)  The earth shall give her increase; Elohim, our own Elohim, blesses us!  (7)  Elohim blesses us! And all the ends of the earth fear Him!

ALEINU:

It is our duty to praise the Master of all, to ascribe greatness to the Molder of creation, for He has not made us like the nations of the lands, and has not emplaced us like the families of the earth; for He has not assigned our portion like theirs nor our lot like all their multitudes. For they bow to vanity and emptiness and pray to an idol which helps not.  But we bend our knees, bow, and acknowledge our thanks before the Sovereign Who reigns over kings, the Set-Apart One, Blessed is He.  He stretches out heaven and establishes earth’s foundation, the seat of His homage is in the heavens above and His powerful Presence is in the loftiest heights.  He is our Elohim and there is none other.  True is our Sovereign, there is nothing beside Him, as it is written in His Torah: ‘And you shall know today, and shall recall to your heart that YAHUAH Himself is Elohim in the heavens above and on the earth beneath; there is none else.’

And therefore we put our hope in You, YAHUAH, our Elohim, that we may soon see Your mighty splendor, to remove detestable idolatry from the earth, and false idols will be utterly cut off, to perfect the universe through the Almighty’s Sovereignty.  Then all mankind will call upon Your Name, to turn all the earth’s wicked toward You.  All the world’s inhabitants will recognize and know that to You every knee should bend, every tongue should confess.  Before You, YAHUAH, our Elohim, they will bend every knee and cast themselves down and to the esteem of Your Name they will render homage, and they will all accept upon themselves the yoke of Your Sovereignty that You may reign over them soon and forever.  For the sovereignty is Yours and You will reign forever in esteem as it is written in Your Torah: ‘YAHUAH reigns forever and ever.’  And it is said: ‘YAHUAH shall be Sovereign over all the earth.  In that day there shall be one YAHUAH, and His Name One.’

‘Do not be afraid of sudden dread, Nor of the ruin of the wrong when it comes; Take counsel, and it comes to naught; speak a word, and it does not stand, for Ěl is with us. Even to your old age, I am He, and even to grey hairs I carry! I have made and I bear, and I carry and rescue.’

(Mishle/Prov. 3:25; Yesh/Is. 8:10; Yesh/Is. 46:4)
