And יהוהspoke to Mosheh, saying, “Speak to the children of Yisra’ĕl, saying, ‘In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you have a rest, a remembrance of blowing of trumpets, a set-apart gathering. ‘You do no servile work, and you shall bring an offering made by fire to יהוה.’
(Way/Lev 23:23-25)
‘And in the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you have a set-apart gathering, you do no servile work, it is a day of blowing the trumpets for you. ‘And you shall prepare a burnt offering as a sweet fragrance to יהוה: one young bull, one ram, seven lambs a year old, perfect ones, and their grain offering: fine flour mixed with oil, three-tenths of an ĕphah for the bull, two-tenths for the ram, and one-tenth for each of the seven lambs, and one male goat as a sin offering, to make atonement for you, besides the burnt offering with its grain offering for the New Moon, the continual burnt offering with its grain offering, and their drink offerings, according to their right-ruling, as a sweet fragrance, an offering made by fire to יהוה.
(Bem/Num 29:1-6)
Elohim has once again created a people for Himself--A new generation of believers
Tabernacle of David raised back up in the earth!
His Kingdom in the earth!
The return is complete!
In Wayyiqra 23 and Bemidbar 29, YAH commands us to observe the Day of Blowing Trumpets—Yom Teruah. It is a Day of Rejoicing for the Return to YAH. We see this in the books of Ezra and NehemYah, which is the only example we find in the Scriptures of Yom Teruah actually being observed by the Yahudim (Ezra 3 & Neh. 8).
In Ezra and NehemYah, the Yahudim came out of Babylonian captivity and journeyed from Babel to Yerushalayim to rebuild the city, its walls, and the House of Elohim. In these books (hundreds of years after Moshe recorded the Torah) we see the only account of the Yahudim observing Yom Teruah in the Scriptures:
On the first day of the seventh month, the Day of Blowing Trumpets (Yom Teruah), the people gathered together ‘as one man’ to listen to the Torah read by Ezra the priest.
Ezra 3:1 Now when the seventh month came, and the children of Yisra’ĕl were in the cities, the people gathered as one man to Yerushalayim.
Neh. 8:1-3 And when the seventh month came, the children of Yisra’ĕl were in their cities. And all the people gathered together as one man in the open space that was in front of the Water Gate. And they spoke to Ezra the scribe to bring the Book of the Torah of Mosheh, which יהוהhad commanded Yisra’ĕl. (2) And Ezra the priest brought the Torah before the assembly of both men and women and all who could hear with understanding, on the first day of the seventh month. (3) And he read from it in the open space in front of the Water Gate from morning until midday, before the men and women and those who could understand. And the ears of all the people listened to the Book of the Torah.
The people wanted to weep from the words, realizing they had strayed far from His commands, but Ezra encouraged them to REJOICE!
Neh 8:9 And Neḥemyah, who was the governor, and Ezra the priest, the scribe, and the Lĕwites who taught the people said to all the people, “This day is set-apart to יהוה your Elohim. Do not mourn or weep.” For all the people wept when they heard the words of the Torah.
Neh 8:10 Then he said to them, “Go, eat the fat, drink the sweet, and send portions to those for whom none is prepared. For this day is set-apart to our .יהוהDo not be sad, for the joy of יהוהis your strength.”
In Ezra, it also states that this day, they rebuilt the altar of El and began making burnt offerings on it. The foundation of the Set-Apart Place had not been laid yet, but the offerings (worship) were restored in its place.
Ezr 3:3 So they set the altar on its stands, being afraid of the peoples of the lands. And they offered burnt offerings on it to יהוה, both the morning and evening burnt offerings.
Ezr 3:6 From the first day of the seventh month they began to offer burnt offerings to יהוה. But the foundation of the Hĕḵal of יהוה had not been laid.
Yom Teruah is a Day of Gathering, a Day of Return. The exiles had returned to Yerushalayim, gathered together as one man to hear and understand the Word of YAH, and restored worship, morning and evening. They came out of Babel and restored true worship of YAHUAH!They rejoiced for their Return to YAH!
Yom Teruah is a day that YAH set aside, set apart, to be a Day of Rejoicing & A Day of Return. We celebrate Yom Teruah remembering the compassion of YAH to bring His people out of captivity to once again worship Him in His set-apart city Yerushalayim.
Yoh/John 3:12 “If you do not believe when I spoke to you about earthly matters, how are you going to believe when I speak to you about the heavenly matters?
NehemYah and Ezra show us the earthly matters—what took place in the natural realm on the earth. We learn from these Scriptures, from these true accounts of what took place, to learn of heavenly, spiritual matters.
Yahushuah brought the natural account of returning from exile to a spiritual sense in His parable of the ‘returning’ son (Luke 15:11-32). Returning from exile, coming out of Babel, and sincere repentance are the same. Below, the parable is broken down to show how it matches with the return from exile in NehemYah/Ezra.
Luke 15:10 “I say to you, in the same way there is joy in the presence of the Messengers of Elohim over one sinner repenting.”
Going astray from Father = Entering Captivity:
And He said, “A certain man had two sons,
and the younger of them said to his father, ‘Father, give me the portion of goods falling to me.’
And he divided his livelihood between them.
“And not many days after, the younger son, having gathered all together, went away to a
distant country, and there wasted his goods with loose living.
“And when he had spent all, there arose a severe scarcity of food throughout that land, and he began to be in need.
“And he went and joined himself to one of the citizens of that country, and he sent him to his fields to feed pigs.
“And he was longing to fill his stomach with the pods which the pigs were eating, and no one gave to him.
“But having come to himself, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired servants have bread enough and to spare, and I am perishing with hunger! (Luk 15:11-17)
Confession of Sins & Returning to Father = Returning to Yerushalayim:
‘Having risen, I shall go to my father and say to him, “Father, I have sinned against the heaven, and before you,
and I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Make me like one of your hired servants.” ’
“And having risen, he went to his father. And while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was moved with compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him.
“And the son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against the heaven, and before you, and I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’ (Luk 15:18-21)
Rejoicing over the Returning Son & Royal Treatment = Returning to the Inheritance (Promised Land)
“But the father said to his servants, ‘Bring out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet.
‘And bring the fattened calf here and slaughter it, and let us eat and rejoice,
because this son of mine was dead and is alive again, and he was lost and is found.’ And they began to rejoice. (Luke 15:22-24)
The Compassion of YAH: When one returns, the Kingdom awaits!
Jealousy will occur from some:
“And his older son was in the field, and when he came and approached the house, he heard music and dancing.
“And having called one of the servants he asked what this meant.
“And he said to him, ‘Your brother has come, and your father has slaughtered the fattened calf because he received him back in health.’
“And he was wroth and would not go in. So his father came out and pleaded with him.
“And answering, he said to his father, ‘See, these many years I have been serving you, and I have never transgressed a command of yours, but to me you have never given a young goat, so I could rejoice with my friends.
‘But when this son of yours came, who has devoured your livelihood with whores, you slaughtered the fattened calf for him.’ (Luk 15:25-30)
The Lost Sheep of Israel (returning exiles) and the Jews are brothers--both are Yahudim. Yah will never forsake Israel for salvation is to the Yahudim
“Then he said to him, ‘Son, you are always with me, and all I have is yours.
‘And we had to rejoice and be glad, for your brother was dead and is alive, and was lost and is found.’ ” (Luk 15:31-32)
When we came back to the truth of the Name of YAHUAH, we were delivered from Mitsrayim. When we accepted the Messiah Yahushuah as our Saviour and Redeemer and believed in Him, we were delivered from sin. When we accepted the Spirit of YAH, seeking His way to obey His laws, we were delivered from Babylon, and our lifestyle changed from lawlessness to obedience to the Torah of Freedom through Yahushuah. We returned to our Father YAHUAH!
Yoh/John 8:31-36 So יהושע said to those Yehudim who believed Him, “If you stay in My Word, you are truly My taught ones, (32) and you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” (33) They answered Him, “We are the seed of Abraham, and have been servants to no one at any time. How do you say, ‘You shall become free’?” (34) יהושע answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone doing sin is a servant of sin. (35) “And the servant does not stay in the house forever – a son stays forever. (36) “If, then, the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed."
Yahushuah sets us free from captivity, and we journey to Yerushalayim by shedding all the ways of Babel and returning to True Worship of Elohim. We follow Yahushuah completely, and through Him—the Door—we enter into the Reign of Elohim, the Heavenly, Renewed Yerushalayim.
When we return to Yerushalayim, entering the Reign of Elohim, we rejoice. On Yom Teruah, we blow trumpets, shout, and rejoice! For we were exiles, but have now returned home! We were lost but are found! HalleluYAH!
We proclaim YAH as Sovereign! We proclaim Yahushuah as Sovereign! We inherit the Reign of Elohim through Messiah and reign as kings and priests unto YAH.We give thanks to YAH who forever remembers His covenants. YAH remembered us in our exile and brought us out—a new creation, a new beginning, a new birth, a ‘rebirth.’ Through Messiah, we are restored to favor, we receive the promises of Abraham, and we inherit the Reign. At the sound of the shofar, we rejoice for our return!
We have come to the Light of Messiah Yahushuah who has brought us into the Spirit of Elohim who brought us unto all truths. We are here today, the ones who worship in Spirit and Truth, the true Yahudim. We have come into the Heavenly Yerushalayim--the Promised Land!
We have come to a rest in YAH. As the Ark of the Covenant travelled and then came to a rest, so too we have come to that rest. No more seeking looking for a resting place. We have found the Father and the Son and His Commands--our Rest. We have pledged our hearts to be set apart and to be the people of Elohim, we have inherited Yahuah. Blow the trumpets in Tsyion!
Now that you have come out of exile and have returned to your resting place, let us celebrate the Set-Apart Day of Yom Teruah with blowing of trumpets, singing, dancing , feasting!
Life in the Kingdom: The Exile is Over Throughיהושׁה
New Covenant Life : Life in Messiahיהושׁה
And Elohim said, “Let light come to be,” and lightlcame to be.
And Elohim saw the light, that it was good. And Elohim separated the light from the darkness. (Gen.1:3-4)
We have been Birthed into Freedom: A New Creation!
For the intense longing of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of Elohim.
For the creation was subjected to futility, not from choice, but because of Him who subjected it, in anticipation,
that the creation itself also shall be delivered from the bondage to corruption into the esteemed freedom of the children of Elohim.
For we know that all the creation groans together, and suffers the pains of childbirth together until now.
And not only so, but even we ourselves who have the first-fruits of the Spirit, we ourselves also groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body. (Rom.8:19-23)
In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. (Yoh. 1:4-5)
Blessings of the Messiah:
But when He saw the crowds, He went up on a mountain. And when He was seated His
taught ones came to Him.
And having opened His mouth, He was teaching them, saying,
“Blessed are the poor in spirit, because theirs is the reign of the heavens.
“Blessed are those who mourn, because they shall be comforted.
“Blessed are the meek, because they shall inherit the earth.
“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, because they shall be filled.
“Blessed are the compassionate, because they shall obtain compassion.
“Blessed are the clean in heart, because they shall see Elohim.
“Blessed are the peacemakers, because they shall be called sons of Elohim.
“Blessed are those persecuted for righteousness’ sake, because theirs is the reign of the heavens.
“Blessed are you when they reproach and persecute you, and falsely say every wicked word against you, for My sake.
“Rejoice and be glad, because your reward in the heavens is great. For in this way they persecuted the prophets who were before you. (Mat.5:1-12)
The Messiahיהושׁהis the Light and Life!
Thereforeיהושׁהspoke to them again, saying, “II Am the Light of the world. He who follows Me shall by no means walk in darkness, but possess the Light of life.”
“While I am in the world, I Am the Light of the world. (Yoh.8:12;9:5)
יהושׁהsaid to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he dies, he shall live.
“And everyone that is living and believing in Me shall never die at all. Do you believe this?” (Yoh.11:25-26)
We are the light of the world!
“You are the salt of the earth, but if the salt becomes tasteless, how shall it be seasoned? For it is no longer of any use but to be thrown out and to be trodden down by men.
“You are the light of the world. It is impossible for a city to be hidden on a mountain.
“Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lamp stand, and it shines to all those in the house.
“Let your light so shine before men, so that they see your good works and praise your Father who is in the heavens. (Mat.5:13-16)
Torah is fulfilled in the Messiahיהושׁה -- the Torah must be fulfilled in us!
“Do not think that I came to destroy the Torah or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to complete.
“For truly, I say to you, till the heaven and the earth pass away, one jot or one tittle shall by no means pass from the Torah till all be done.
“Whoever, then, breaks one of the least of these commands, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the reign of the heavens; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the reign of the heavens. (Mat.5:18-19)
New Covenant: “See, the days are coming,” declaresיהוה, “when I shall make a new covenant with the house of Yisra’ĕl and with the house of Yehuḏah
“Because this is the covenant that I shall make with the house of Yisra’ĕl after those days, says יהוה, giving My laws in their mind, and I shall write them on their hearts, and I shall be their Elohim, and they shall be My people. (Jer.31:31, Heb 8:10)
The Righteous shall live by belief:
For I am not ashamed of the Good News of Messiah, for it is the power of Elohim for deliverance to everyone who believes, to the Yehuḏite first and also to the Greek.
For in it the righteousness of Elohim is revealed from belief to belief, as it has been written, “But the righteous shall live by belief.”
For the wrath of Elohim is revealed from heaven against all wickedness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness,
because that which is known of Elohim is manifest among them, for Elohim has manifested it to them.
For since the creation of the world His invisible qualities have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, both His everlasting power and Mightiness, for them to be without excuse,
because, although they knew Elohim, they did not esteem Him as Elohim, nor gave thanks, but became vain in their reasonings, and their undiscerning heart was darkened. (Rom.1:16-21)
We are not condemned, we are free!
There is, then, now no condemnation to those who are in Messiah יהושע, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.
For the Torah of the Spirit of the life in Messiah יהושע has set me free from the law of sin and of death.
For the Torah being powerless, in that it was weak through the flesh, Elohim, having His own Son in the likeness of flesh of sin, and concerning sin, condemned sin in the flesh,
so that the righteousness of the Torah should be completed in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.
For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the matters of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the matters of the Spirit.
For the mind of the flesh is death, but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace.
Because the mind of the flesh is enmity towards Elohim, for it does not subject itself to the Torah of Elohim, neither indeed is it able, and those who are in the flesh are unable to please Elohim.
But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of Elohim dwells in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Messiah, this one is not His.
And if Messiah is in you, the body is truly dead on account of sin, but the Spirit is life on account of righteousness. (Rom.8:1-10)
Heirs to the Promise:
"and if children, also heirs– truly heirs of Elohim, and co-heirs with Messiah, if indeed we suffer with Him, in order that we also be exalted together.
And if you are of Messiah, then you are seed of Aḇraham, and heirs according to promise.
The gentiles to be co-heirs, united in the same body, and partakers together in the promise in Messiah through the Good News, that having been declared right by His favour we should become heirs according to the expectation of everlasting life. (Rom 8:17,Gal.3:29,Eph. 3:6, ***.3:7)
“Also the sons of the foreigner who join themselves to יהוה, to serve Him, and to love theName of יהוה, to be His servants, all who guard the Sabbath, and not profane it, and hold fast to My covenant – them I shall bring to My set-apart mountain, and let them rejoice in My house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and their slaughterings are accepted on My altar, for My house is calleda house of prayer for all the peoples.” (Is.56:6-7)
In this way Elohim, resolving to show even more clearly to the heirs of promise the unchangeableness of His purpose, confirmed it by an oath, (Heb.6:17)
Restoration to Favor:
2Co 5:18And all matters are from Elohim, who has restored us to favour with Himself through יהושע Messiah, and has given us the service of restoration to favour,
2Co 5:19that is, that Elohim was in Messiah restoring the world to favour unto Himself, not reckoning their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of restoration to favour.
Redeemed from sin! HalleluYah!
Now we are ready for Sukkot because we have been made new in Messiah Yahushuah, and we will live the rest of our life in Him, throughout eternity!
