Passover in the Reign of YAHUAH
To perform this Passover, you will need: The Scriptures, wine/grape juice, matzah (unleavened bread), and candles (Shabbat candles will do).
**Karpas (green vegetable/parsley), Maror (bitter herb/horseradish), and Charoses (fruit & nut mixture) are also used in this Haggadah. However, if you do not have these, it is okay. It is more important to know what these mean--as explained below.

THE HAGGADAH
History
“And the Messenger of YAHUAH called to Abraham a second time from the heavens, and said, ‘By Myself I have sworn, declares YAHUAH, because you have done this, and have not withheld your son, your only son, that I shall certainly bless you, and I shall certainly increase your seed as the stars of the heavens and as the sand which is on the seashore, and let your seed possess the gate of their enemies. And in your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice.’” (Gen/Ber. 22:15-18)
“And it came to be, when the sun was going down, and a deep sleep fell upon Abram, that see, a frightening great darkness fell upon him. And He said to Abram, ‘Know for certain that your seed are to be sojourners in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them, and they shall afflict them four hundred years. But the nation whom they serve I am going to judge, and afterward let them come out with great possessions.’” (Bere.15:12-14)
Abraham begot Yitshaq (Isaac), the promised seed. Yitshaq had two sons, Ya’aqob (Jacob) and Esau. Ya’aqob was the promised seed. Ya’aqob had twelve sons who became known as the Twelve Tribes of Yisra’el. Out of the twelve sons of Ya’acob, Yoseph (Joseph) was the chosen seed, born to Rachel. Yoseph’s brothers sold him as a slave to Ishmaelite slave traders. He served as a slave in Mitsrayim (Egypt) for approximately fifteen years. Pharaoh later honored Yoseph when Yoseph interpreted his dream and gave good counsel by the Set-Apart Spirit. Pharaoh raised Yoseph to the second position of all Mitsrayim. Through Yoseph, YAHUAH worked salvation for His people from death by famine. Ya’acob and all the tribes came to Yoseph and settled in the land of Goshen. Yet, their hearts were always to return to the Land of Canaan.
The Hebrew people multiplied greatly in Mitsrayim and outnumbered the Mitsrites (Egyptians). All of the Pharaohs who were kind to the Hebrews died. A new Pharaoh arose who had not known Yoseph and placed the Hebrew people into slavery. YAHUAH’s promise to Abraham that His people will go into slavery came to fulfillment. YAHUAH’s promise to bring them out would also come to fulfillment.
After 400 years of slavery, YAHUAH raised up a deliverer within Pharoah’s own household. His name was Mosheh (Moses). Mosheh was born to Hebrew parents; however, his mother placed him in an ark and set him in the river to spare his life from Pharaoh’s decree of death to all newborn Hebrew males. Pharaoh’s daughter drew Mosheh out of the water and raised him as a Mitsrite. Mosheh finally learned of his identity after becoming fully grown. He defended the Hebrew slaves, escaped Pharaoh’s anger, and went into the wilderness for 40 years. In the wilderness, YAHUAH prepared him for an awesome task.
At the time of deliverance, Elohim spoke to Mosheh and identified Himself by His Name ????(YAHUAH)—I AM WHO I AM. YAHUAH gave Mosheh instructions to go to the Hebrew slaves and declare His Name to them. He commanded Mosheh to tell Pharaoh to set His people free from bondage. The people had cried out to Elohim because of the oppression the Mitsrites laid upon them. Elohim heard and acted with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm bringing esteem to His name.
YAHUAH did a great and awesome deed when through ten plagues of judgment, Mosheh led His people out of captivity, through the Sea of Reeds, and on to Sinai. The Hebrew slaves came out of slavery with great possessions. YAHUAH fulfilled His promise to Abraham. Elohim spoke to Mosheh telling him to command the people to observe the Passover each year on the 14th day of Abib, for this was the month that He brought His people out of slavery. This is an everlasting law.
In every time period since the Redemption from Mitsrayim, there have been threats to Israel’s existence. Rulers have been raised up in every generation to take Pharaoh’s spiritual role to destroy Israel. We who are grafted into the covenant of Abraham also face threats from the enemy. We must stand with each other in defense of our Hebrew brothers and sisters.
Slavery still exists today but with an invisible taskmaster’s whip. When we turn from Elohim to serve our own desires we become slaves to our passions. If we are slaves, then there is a taskmaster who oppresses and persecutes us.
Elohim raised up another Deliverer, a Prophet of whom YAHUAH spoke to Mosheh: “I shall raise up for them a Prophet like you out of the midst of their brothers. And I shall put My Words in His mouth, and He shall speak to them all that I command Him. And it shall be, the man who does not listen to My Words which He speaks in My Name, I require it of him.” (Deut/Deb.18:18-19; John/Yoh. 3:34, 7:16)
In obedience to our Father YAHUAH to hear Yahushuah, we remember the deliverance of the children of Israel from bondage, but we also hold on to an even greater deliverance—the Messiah Yahushuah, the Son of the Living Elohim, who came to take away the sins of the world! He has become the Passover of YAHUAH, and Him we shall hear and observe. The laws of Mosheh spoke of placing the blood of a lamb on the doorposts and lintel of the believer’s home and to roast and eat the lamb—a lamb for each household. In fulfillment of this, the Messiah Yahushuah is the Lamb of Elohim who was offered for our sins. The promise is to you and your household. When we believe and obey Him, to walk in His way, then His blood is placed on the doorposts of our hearts and the lintel of our minds. We eat the lamb when we eat the flesh of Messiah in commemoration of His body that was broken for us. Now let us bring into remembrance the esteem and greatness of Elohim who set the Hebrew slaves free and Messiah Yahushuah who set all people free. Let us also look forward in expectation to the coming great exodus out of Babylon.
SEARCH FOR CHAMETZ
According to tradition, Jews search their homes for chametz (leaven/yeast) the evening before Passover. The home is thoroughly cleaned, and a search for chametz is conducted by candlelight in silence. All chametz is removed from the home in preparation for Passover.
In the Reign of Elohim, with the Promised Set-Apart Spirit, we remove sin from our lives. We first cleanse ourselves of all known and visible sins and repent of them. Then, we silently look into our being, deep in our souls, with prayer and the guidance of the Set-Apart Spirit as the candlelight. We search thoroughly into the dark areas of our lives. While quietly meditating on Messiah Yahushuah as our example, the Set-Apart Spirit will reveal any hidden sins. When He does reveal them, we repent and ask forgiveness.
Blessed are You, YAHUAH our Elohim, Sovereign of the universe, Who has set us apart with His commands and has commanded us concerning the removal of chametz.
May it be Your will, YAHUAH our Elohim and the Elohim of our forefathers, that You enable us to explore and search out our spiritual troubles, which we have acquired by following the advice of evil inclinations; that You enable us to return in complete repentance before You; and may You, in Your abundant kindness have compassion on us. Assist us, O Elohim of our Salvation, for the sake of Your Name’s esteem, and rescue us from transgressing the prohibition of chametz in the slightest degree, this year and every year, for all the days of our lives. So be it. So may it be.
BURNING THE CHAMETZ
After a deeper search for chametz, any chametz (sin) found must be burned by repentance and prayer. “Therefore cleanse out the old leaven, so that you are a new lump, as you are unleavened. For also Messiah our Passover was offered for us. So then let us observe the festival, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of evil and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.” (1 Cor. 5:7-8)
Confess your sins to YAHUAH, ask forgiveness, and repent.
May it be Your will, YAHUAH our Elohim and the Elohim of our forefathers, may You remove all external influences, and the spirit of defilement from the earth; remove all evil inclinations from our beings in the Name of Yahushuah HaMashiach of Natsareth, Son of the Living Elohim. Give us a heart of flesh to serve You with sincerity; may all the forces of the adversary and all evil evaporate like smoke; may the realm of wantonness pass from the earth; and may You remove, in the Spirit of Right-Ruling, all that impede Your Set-Apart Presence; just as You removed Mitsrayim and its idols in those days at this season. In the Name of Yahushuah HaMashiach of Natsareth, Son of the Living Elohim, So be it.
May it be Your will, YAHUAH our Elohim and the Elohim of our forefathers, that You be compassionate with us and rescue us from transgressing the prohibition of chametz (sin, iniquity, and transgression) even in the slightest degree—us, our entire household, and all of Yisra’el—this year and every year, for all the days of our lives. May You enable us to remove evil inclinations from within us forever, all the days of our lives; may You enable us to cleave to You, to Your Torah, and to Your love, and to cleave to good inclinations, the ways of Yahushuah our Master, forever—us, our children, and our children’s children—from now and forever. In the Name of Yahushuah HaMashiach of Natsareth, Son of the Living Elohim, so may it be. So be it.
LIGHTING THE MENORAH
We light the Menorah in setting the Feast of Passover in the Reign of Yahuah. Yahushuah is the Light that has come into world. As He is the Light, we His followers are commanded to be light to the world (Matt. 5:14).
Blessed are You YAHUAH our Elohim, Sovereign of the Universe, Who has set us apart in Your Word, and given us Yahushuah our Messiah, and commanded us to be light to the world. So be it.
Blessed are You, YAHUAH our Elohim, Sovereign of the Universe, Who has kept us alive, sustained us, and brought us to this season.
May it be Your will, YAHUAH my Elohim and Elohim of my forefathers, that You show favor to us, to all our relatives, and to all of Yisra’el; and that You grant us and all Yisra’el a good and long life; that You remember us with a beneficent memory and blessing; that You consider us with a consideration of salvation and compassion; that You bless us with great blessings; that You make our households complete; that You cause Your Presence to dwell among us. May we, our children, and our children’s children grow to be wise and understanding, to love YAHUAH and fear Elohim, to be people of truth, set-apart, attached to YAHUAH, to illuminate the world with Torah, the Good News of Yahushuah, and good deeds and with every labor in the service of the Creator. Please, hear our supplication at this time, and cause the Light of Yahushuah our Messiah to shine through us and not be extinguished, and let Your countenance shine so that we are saved. In the Name of Yahushuah HaMashiach of Natsareth, Son of the Living Elohim, So be it.
BARCHU
Leader: Bless YAHUAH, the Blessed One.
Congregation: Blessed is YAHUAH, the Blessed One, forever and ever.
Leader: Blessed, praised, esteemed, exalted and upraised is the Name of the Sovereign Who rules over sovereigns—the Set-Apart One, Blessed is He. For He is the First and He is the Last and aside from Him there is no mighty-one. Extol Him—Who rides the highest heavens—by His Name, YAH, and exult before Him. His Name is exalted beyond every blessing and praise. Blessed be the Name of YAHUAH from this time and forever.
Blessed are You, YAHUAH, our Elohim, Sovereign of the universe, Whose word brings on evenings. You open the gates of dawn with wisdom, change the day’s divisions with understanding, set the succession of seasons, and arrange stars in the sky according to Your will. You create day and night, removing light before darkness and darkness before light. You cause day to pass and bring night, and separate between day and night—YAHUAH, Master of Hosts, is Your Name. May the Living and Enduring Elohim continuously reign over us, forever and ever. Blessed are You, YAHUAH, Who brings on evenings.
SHEMA
With an eternal love have You loved the House of Yisra’el, Your nation. Torah and commands, laws and right-rulings have You taught us. Therefore, YAHUAH our Elohim, when we lie down and when we rise up, we will speak of Your laws and we will rejoice in the words of the study of Your Torah and with Your commands forever and ever. For they are our life and the length of our days; we will meditate on them day and night. May You not remove Your love from us forever. Blessed are You, YAHUAH, Who loves His nation Yisra’el.
Sh’ma Yisra’el: YAHUAH Eloheynu, YAHUAH Echad.
Hear O Israel: YAHUAH our Elohim, YAHUAH is One.
Blessed is the Name of His esteemed sovereignty forever and ever.
“And you shall love YAHUAH your Elohim with all your heart, and with all your being, and with all your might. And these words which I am commanding you today shall be in your heart, and you shall impress them upon your children, and shall speak of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up, and shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. And you shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.” (Deb. 6:5-9)
THE SEDER
KADDESH: The recitation of the Kaddesh proclaims the set-apartness of the day.
Blessed are You, YAHUAH, our Elohim, Sovereign of the universe, Who creates the fruit of the vine.
Blessed are You, YAHUAH, our Elohim, Sovereign of the universe, Who has chosen us from all nations, exalted us above all tongues, and set us apart with His commandments. And You, YAHUAH, our Elohim have lovingly given us, appointed times for gladness, festivals and seasons for joy, this Passover, the season of our freedom, a set-apart gathering in memoriam of the Exodus from Mitsrayim, a remembrance of our freedom from the curse of sin through the death of the Messiah Yahushuah, and an expectation of the coming great exodus from Babylon. For You have chosen and set us apart above all peoples, and Your set-apart festivals, in gladness and joy have You granted us a heritage. Blessed are You, YAHUAH, Who sets apart Yisra’el, and the festive seasons.
Blessed are You, YAHUAH, our Elohim, Sovereign of the universe, Who has kept us alive, sustained us, and brought us to this season.
URECHATZ (Washing of hands) According to tradition, the priest washes his hands before eating the karpas and prior to the meal. We wash our hands to show that the Father cleanses us through the Set-Apart Spirit and by our obedience in following the Messiah. We follow Messiah by keeping His Word to pick up our stake and follow Him, to die to ourselves and serve Him.
KARPAS (Dipping of vegetable into salt-water) Blessed are You, YAHUAH our Elohim, Sovereign of the universe, Who creates the fruits of the earth.
YACHATZ (Breaking of Matzah) Blessed are You, YAHUAH our Elohim, Sovereign of the universe, Who brings forth bread from the earth.
The Matzah is broken in two, and the larger of the two pieces is wrapped and placed aside. This is the Afikomen. The Afikomen in this Seder will be used later as the bread of Messiah to commemorate His death. This is a reminder that we are celebrating the Passover of YAHUAH in the Reign of Elohim, and we have been redeemed by the blood of the Lamb.
MAGGID A Recount of the Exodus out of Mitsrayim and Messiah’s impalement.
**Read Exodus/Shemoth 12; Mark 15:1-39
MESSIAH OUR PASSOVER
THE LAMB: “See, the Lamb of Elohim who takes away the sin of the world!” (John/Yoh. 1:29). The Messiah Yahushuah is the Lamb of Elohim who came into the world to take away the sins of the world. He was beaten and impaled upon the tree. His blood flowed for our deliverance. “Truly, He has borne our sicknesses and carried our pains. Yet we reckoned Him stricken, smitten by Elohim, and afflicted. But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our crookednesses. The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed” (YeshaYahu 53:4,5). He is our Lamb for this household. A Lamb for every household—the promise is that He will save you and your household.
MATZAH: “On the fourteenth day of the second month, between the evenings, they perform it – with unleavened bread and bitter herbs they eat it” (Num/Bem. 9:11).
Blessed are You, YAHUAH our Elohim, Sovereign of the universe, Who has set us apart with His commandments, and has commanded us concerning the eating of unleavened bread.
The use of Matzah in most Jewish observances of Passover signifies the unleavened bread that the children of Israel brought out of Mitsrayim. The dough did not have time to rise when they left in haste at midnight. Chametz is removed from the home at Passover and Feast of Unleavened Bread to commemorate the unleavened bread of the Hebrews. We use matzah in our celebration of the Passover of YAHUAH to commemorate the Messiah Yahushuah our Passover. He was without leaven (sin) and was found blameless. We break matzah in commemoration of His body, which was broken for us.
MAROR AND CHAZERES: “On the fourteenth day of the second month, between the evenings, they perform it – with unleavened bread and bitter herbs they eat it” (Num/Bem. 9:11).
Blessed are You YAHUAH our Elohim, Sovereign of the universe, Who has set us apart with His commandments, and has commanded us concerning the eating of Maror.
Maror is the bitter herb that represents the hard labor and the bitterness of slavery of the Hebrew people in Mitsrayim. The bitter herb is eaten with matzah to bring into remembrance the deliverance from slavery and a future redemption.
We eat matzah and maror to remember that the Messiah of Israel took on the punishment of the world when He suffered bitterly before His death. The maror is the bitterness of oppression, and the matzah signifies ‘no leaven’ or ‘no sin.’ When eaten together, we remember that Messiah Yahushuah suffered blamelessly. As we remember our Messiah, we also remember the destruction of the Set-Apart Place in Yerushalayim.
CHAROSES: The sweet mixture of apples, nuts, fruits, spices, and cinnamon mixed with red wine. This mixture symbolizes the mortar and brick of the hard labor of slavery in Mitsrayim. It also symbolizes the sweetness of deliverance of the people of this world from death. This deliverance was accomplished through the sufferings (bitterness) of our Messiah Yahushuah who took the sins of the world upon His shoulders. His blood (red wine) delivered us all from the slavery of sin. When we accept and believe in Him as the Son of Elohim who came from Elohim, our deliverance is sweet.
SHULCHAN ORECH—THE FESTIVE MEAL
The blessing before the meal:
Blessed are You YAHUAH our Elohim, Sovereign of the universe who gives bountifully foods to eat, that nourish our bodies that we may serve You.
BARECH (Grace After Meal)
Recite Tehillim 134:
Come, bless YAHUAH, all you servants of YAHUAH,
who are standing in the House of YAHUAH by night!
Lift up your hands in the set-apart place, and bless YAHUAH.
YAHUAH, Maker of the heavens and earth, does bless you from Tsiyon!
The men in the group come together and recite:
Leader: Gentlemen let us bless.
Group: Blessed is the Name of YAHUAH from this moment and forever!
Leader: Blessed is the Name from this moment and forever!
Group: Blessed is He our Elohim of Whose we have eaten and through Whose goodness we live.
Leader: Blessed is He our Elohim of Whose we have eaten and through Whose goodness we live.
All: Blessed are You, YAHUAH, our Elohim, Sovereign of the universe, Who nourishes the entire world; in His goodness, with favor, with lovingkindness, and with compassion. He gives nourishment to all flesh, for His lovingkindness is everlasting. And through His great goodness nourishment was never lacking to us and may it never be lacking to us forever. For the sake of His Great Name, because He is the Elohim Who nourishes and sustains all, and benefits all, and He prepares food for all of His creatures which He has created. Blessed are You, YAHUAH, Who nourishes all.
Blessed are You, YAHUAH our Elohim, Sovereign of the universe, the Almighty, our Father, our Sovereign, our Master, our Creator, our Redeemer, our Maker, our Set-Apart One, the Set-Apart One of Ya’aqob, our Shepherd, the Shepherd of Yisra’el, the Sovereign Who is good and Who does good for all. For every single day He did good, He does good, and He will do good to us. He was bountiful with us, He is bountiful with us, and He will forever be bountiful with us—with favor and with kindness and with compassion, with relief, salvation, success, blessing, help, consolation, sustenance, support, life, peace, and all good; and of all good things may He never deprive us. In the Name of Yahushuah HaMashiach of Natsareth, Son of the Living Elohim, So be it.
The Compassionate One! May He reign over us forever. The Compassionate One! May He be blessed in heaven and on earth. The Compassionate One! May He be praised throughout all generations, may He be esteemed through us forever to the ultimate ends, and be honored through us forever and ever. The Compassionate One! May He sustain us in honor. The Compassionate One! May He send us abundant blessing to this house and upon this table at which we have eaten. The Compassionate One! May He bless us, our family, ours, and all that is ours—just as our forefathers Abraham, Yitshaq, and Ya’aqob were blessed in everything, from everything, with everything. So may He bless us all together with a perfect blessing. In the Name of Yahushuah HaMashiach of Natsareth, Son of the Living Elohim, So be it.
COMMEMORATION OF THE MESSIAH YAHUSHUAH—OUR PASSOVER
The Blessing of Messiah: Blessed are you, YAHUAH our Elohim, Sovereign of the universe, Who has given us the way of salvation in Messiah Yahushuah.
The leaders now take up the Afikomen, which was removed and placed aside, to bless it and use it as the bread in commemoration of the Passover observed by Messiah Yahushuah with His twelve taught-ones.
Blessing over bread: Blessed are You YAHUAH our Elohim, Sovereign of the Universe, Who brings forth bread from the Earth.
“And as they were eating, Yahushuah took bread, having blessed, broke it, gave it to them and said, ‘Take, eat, this is My body’” (Mark 14:22).
Blessing over Wine: Blessed are you YAHUAH our Elohim, Sovereign of the Universe, Who creates fruit from the vine.
(One cup of wine is poured instead of the traditional four cups.)
“And taking the cup, giving thanks, He gave it to them, and they all drank from it. And He said to them, ‘This is My blood, that of the renewed covenant, which is shed for many.” (Mark 14:23)
“For I received from the Master that which I also delivered to you: that the Master Yahushuah in the night in which He was delivered up took bread, and having given thanks, He broke it and said, ‘Take, eat, this is My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me.’ In the same way also the cup, after supper, saying, ‘This cup is the renewed covenant in My blood. As often as you drink it, do this in remembrance of Me.’ For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the death of the Master until He comes.” (1Cor. 11:23-26)
HALLEL
Blessed are You, YAHUAH our Elohim, Sovereign of the Universe, Who has given us songs of praise to esteem Your Name.
Recite Tehillim 113-118
All Your works shall praise You, YAHUAH our Elohim. And Your devout ones, the righteous, who do Your will, and Your entire people, the House of Yisrael, with glad song will thank, bless, praise, esteem, exalt, extol, set-apart, and proclaim the sovereignty of Your Name, our Sovereign.
