YOM TERUAH & SHABBAT (9/19/09)
September 17, 2009
SHABBAT SHALOM! HAPPY YOM TERUAH!
Yom Teruah--the Day of Blowing Trumpets--begins 9/18 at sundown, on the Shabbat!
Praise YAH! We finally have everything ready for the Yom Teruah observance. Our Prayer Guide has only a few additions in it, but it was the understanding of the set-apart day that changed the most. Formerly, we observed Yom Teruah as a day of solemn repentance and a day of judgment. This is the traditional way our Jewish brothers observe it. We followed their guide until YAH gave us revelation. He revealed to us what Yom Teruah is truly about--it is a JOYFUL CELEBRATION OF OUR RETURN FROM BABYLON! This is what we learn from Ezra & NehemYah. This is NOT a day to mourn, weep, or be sad. We must rejoice for the Joy of YAHUAH is our Strength! (Neh. 8:10) HalleluYAH! Praise YAH for bringing us back to Him!
Rejoice, Rejoice! For YAHUSHUAH has delivered us from Mitsrayim! Rejoice! For the Set-Apart Spirit led us out of Babylonian captivity and brought us to Renewed Yerushalayim--the place of rest, the place of His Esteem! HalleluYAH!
We will observe Yom Teruah for 2 days this year--as in NehemYah 8. The evening of the first day (9/18 at sundown), we will begin the Set-Apart Day with the Prayer Guide. In the morning (9/19), we will observe Shabbat with Sabbath prayers and praise & worship. Then, we will spend most of the morning reading from Torah and the words of Messiah in the Brit Chadasha. This comes from Neh. 8:3, which says that Ezra read the Torah to the people from morning to midday. We don't have specific Scriptures, just take time to read from both the Torah and the Brit Chadasha. The second day, we will gather again in the morning (9/20), to continue rejoicing and to study the Scriptures together (Neh. 8:13). There are a few suggested Scriptures in the Prayer Guide, and you may add any Scriptures that YAH leads you to. Spend time reading & studying and allow YAH to reveal His words to you.
Shabbat Shalom! And may YAHUAH bless you this Yom Tov and this new month for goodness and for blessing, for joy and for gladness, for deliverance and for comfort, for good sustenance and for support, for good life and for peace, for good report and for good news, for rains in their proper time, and for complete recovery.

********************** Prayer for the New Month:
Blessed are You, YAHUAH our Elohim, who has kept us alive, sustained us, and brought us to this season.
May it be Your will, YAHUAH our Elohim and the Elohim of our forefathers, that You inaugurate this month upon us for long life—a life of peace, a life of goodness, a life of blessing, a life of sustenance, a life of physical health, a life in which there is fear of heaven and fear of sin, a life in which there is no shame nor humiliation, a life of wealth and respect, a life in which we have a love of Torah and fear of heaven, a life in which YAHUAH fulfills our heartfelt requests for the good. In the Set-Apart Name of YAHUSHUAH, so be it, so be it.
