SHABBAT SHALOM!
Complete peace and blessings to you!
This week in America, everyone has been focused on giving thanks. Of course, as Yahudim, this should be our attitude every single day. Thankful to YAH for all the goodness He places in our lives. Sometimes, however, thankfulness wears off quickly. One day, we are grateful for everything. Then, all of a sudden, the very next day, we don't have enough and need more, more, more--giving stores the biggest shopping day of the year. We must be sure to not fall into that trap of short-lived thankfulness.
As Yahudim, we must have a constant 'attitude of gratitude.' Give thanksgiving offerings to YAHUAH everyday. This defeats the enemy's attacks. The adversary will attack us by constantly bringing up the things we don't have in our lives. When we think on those things, we can't offer praise to Elohim. We are too busy thinking of ourselves. If we're thinking of ourselves, then we cannot show true love and concern for our neighbor. Right there, we have broken the first & second greatest commands: To love YAHUAH with all our heart, being, and might, and To love our neighbor as our self.
If we allow our focus on lack to continue unchecked, then lust enters our being, lust for the things we don't have. Lust opens the door for sin--doing something displeasing to YAH in order to obtain what we want.
In our Torah reading this week, Yisrael is warned about asking for a king when they enter the Land. They would say, "Let me set a sovereign over me like all the nations that are around me" (Deb. 17:14). They would look at all the nations around them and see that they LACK a king over them. We see the end result throughout the books of Melakim (Kings) and Dibre haYamim (Chronicles). They did have some good kings over them, but they also had some evil kings who brought ruin to Yisrael. They were not grateful for what they had--the Most High YAHUAH as Sovereign. They were not satisfied--focusing on their lack compared to other nations--and their ultimate end was punishment and exile.
Focus on lack brings destruction in the end, because that is the devil's aim. The adversary causes us to concentrate on what we don't have. It is not always just our own minds--it is his evil work. How do you fight him? With the Word. Read the Scriptures aloud and he will flee. Call the devil a liar! YAHUSHUAH is our Sovereign! He is a good Sovereign and He has provided all good things to His people. Call out all the things that YAH has done for you and the devil of lack will quickly flee.
Do not allow yourself to fall into the trap of lack. Focus on YAHUAH and all His goodness. Continue reading and studying the words of Messiah in preparation for the Festival of Dedication. Begin to see YAHUSHUAH as Sovereign. He is Sovereign over us! He cares for us and provides for us each and every day! Give Him the thanks that are due Him.
Praise YAHUAH!
May YAHUAH our Elohim give you and your household complete peace and bless you in all good things, and may the Set-Apart Spirit bring forth grateful words of praise in your being to exalt YAHUSHUAH our Sovereign everyday continually, in His Most Set-apart Name, so be it, so be it.
