SABBATH READINGS 2/27/10
February 25, 2010
Shabbat Shalom!
YAHUAH bless you abundantly this Shabbat Day!
This weekend, we have 2 special days. First, we have our second special Shabbat leading up to Passover: Shabbat Zachor (the Sabbath of Remembrance). On this Shabbat, we remember the command to blot out the remembrance of Amaleq (Deb. 25:17-19). We observe this command on the Sabbath right before Purim because at Purim we read the book of Ester which shows what can happen if we forget this important command. Haman was a descendant of Agag, the king of Amaleq, and he plotted to kill all the Yahudim in the land of Persia. In 2008, we conducted our Battle for Israel in obedience to this command to blot out Amaleq. That year Israel was expecting a major attack on their country, but after we blotted out Amaleq--no attack came! HalleluYAH!
We must always, always, always pray for all Yahudim all around the world. The enemy continually plots to take out the people of Elohim. In every generation, Amaleq arises. So, we the people of YAHUAH, who walk in the authority given to us by our Sovereign Messiah YAHUSHUAH, must pray to defeat the plans of the enemy. On this Sabbath Day, Shabbat Zachor, remember all Yisrael worldwide in prayer--for protection, for provision, for goodness, and for favor. Pray against all plans and wicked plots of the enemy to destroy YAH's people.
Luke 10:17-20 -- And the seventy returned with joy, saying, “Master, even the demons are subject to us in Your Name.” (18) And He said to them, “I saw Satan falling out of the heaven as lightning. (19) “See, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and none at all shall hurt you. (20) “But do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names have been written in the heavens.”
"YAHUAH our Elohim, Sovereign of the universe, Most High Elohim, we pray that You guard all Your people throughout the earth as the apple of Your eye--all Yisrael, all Yahudim worldwide, all who believe in Your Name and put their trust in You. Guard all of us together as one from all evil and shield us from all wicked plots of the enemy. May You speedily uproot, smash, and cast down all wicked plots of the adversary. Speedily nullify all evil counsel and disrupt their design. In Your abundant compassion, YAHUAH our Elohim, may you grant us your protection daily and may You provide all of our need and show us Your favor. We ask You YAHUAH, in the Name of Your Only Brought-forth Son, our Messiah, Redeemer, and Savior--YAHUSHUAH our Sovereign. So be it, so be it."

As Shabbat Zachor takes leave, we then welcome PURIM! On the Sabbath, we pray for the Yahudim, and on Purim we give YAH shouts of joy for His great deliverance! Purim begins 2/27 at sundown (as the Sabbath closes) and continues into the next day until 2/28 at sundown.
Ester 9:1 -- And in the twelfth month, that is, the month of Adar, on the thirteenth day, when the sovereign’s command and his decree came to be done, on the day that the enemies of the Yehudim had waited to overpower them, IT TURNED AROUND, so that the YEHUDIM OVERPOWERED those who hated them.
Est 9:20-22 And Mordekai wrote these matters and sent letters to all the Yehudim who were in all the provinces of Sovereign Ahashwerosh, both near and far, (21) to establish among them, to observe the fourteenth and fifteenth days of the month of Adar, yearly, (22) as the days on which the Yehudim had REST from their enemies, as the month which was turned from sorrow to JOY for them, and from mourning to a GOOD day, that they should make them days of FEASTING and JOY, of SENDING PORTIONS to one another and GIFTS to the POOR.
We don't have a set way to celebrate Purim, but the verses above tell us a few things to focus on for this day. FIRST, feasting. Plan a nice celebration meal for you and your family to rejoice in all the good that YAHUAH has done. He delivers His people continually through Messiah YAHUSHUAH. SECOND, joy. Make it a day of joy and gladness. Set your mind on being joyful and reject anything to the contrary. THIRD, sending portions to one another. Send a food gift to a family member, friends, brother/sisters in Messiah, or anyone. Fruits, baked goods, or whatever you choose. FOURTH, gifts to the poor. Give any kind of gift to someone in need--money, food, clothes, anything. The point of giving food and gifts is to SPREAD THE JOY! We are rejoicing in our Elohim and we should do something to cause someone else to rejoice in YAHUAH as well.
This makes for a busy Purim day, but in the midst of it, take time to read/study some special scriptures for the day: **Megillat Ester (Scroll of Ester--the entire book) Shem/Ex. 32:11-14 & 34:1-10 Yesh/Is. 55:6-56:8 Matt. 18:21-35
SPECIAL BLESSINGS FOR THE DAY OF PURIM: "Blessed are You, YAHUAH our Elohim, Sovereign of the universe, Who has kept us alive, sustained us, and brought us to this season."
"Blessed are You, YAHUAH our Elohim, Sovereign of the universe, Who has given us salvation and deliverance in our Master and Deliverer, YAHUSHUAH HaMashiach. He has delivered us from all our enemies and defeated every foe and granted us rest and peace all around. Praise YAH! So be it."

May YAHUAH bless you this Sabbath Day and increase your joy and understanding of His deliverance, in the Name of YAHUSHUAH, so be it.
