SABBATH READINGS 3/27/10
March 25, 2010
Shabbat Shalom!
Chag Sameach! Happy Festival!
Passover is here! Beginning 3/28 at sundown, we will observe Pesach in Remembrance of our Sovereign YAHUSHUAH. We have just finished our Passover Guide and posted it on our Resources page. It is a little different from the Guide we have been using. YAHUAH has given us better understanding and has shown us how to remember Messiah YAHUSHUAH in a more complete manner.
**The Passover Guide is used only on the FIRST night of Passover (3/28 at evening). The Guide for Fest. of Unleavened Bread is used the remainder of the week (also on the Resources page).
*************************** SHOPPING LIST
To follow the Passover Guide, you may have to do a little shopping to prepare. You will need:
* lights for setting apart the day (candles or oil lamps) * wine or grape juice & small cups/glasses (enough wine for everyone to have 4 cups; if not enough then drink 4 sips instead of 4 cupfuls) * matzah (unleavened bread; enough for everyone, plus some set aside for Commemoration) * vegetable (parsley or something similar) * bitter herb (romaine lettuce or something similar) * bitter herb (horseradish or something equally bitter) * salt water in small bowl * small bottle or container (to hold drops of wine) * Cup for commemoration
*************************** SHABBAT HAGADOL
This Shabbat is the last special Sabbath before Passover. It is Shabbat HaGadol--the Great Sabbath. On this Sabbath, we take time to review all the laws of Passover to prepare for its observance. Some scriptures to review are:
* Shem/Ex. 12-15 (Exodus from Mitsrayim/Egypt) * Lev/Wayy. 23:5-8 (Laws) * Bem/Num. 28:16-25 (Laws) * Deb/Deut. 16:1-8 (Laws)
Scriptures on the death, burial, resurrection of Messiah:
* Matt. 26-28 * Mark 14-16 * Luke 22-24 * Yoh/John 13 & 18-21
These are just references--read whatever you need to be familiar with the Set-Apart Day.
*************************** COUNTING THE OMER We will begin Counting the Omer on the 16th Abib--3/30 at evening. We're in the process of updating the Counting chart--we should have it up on our website in the next day or so.
*************************** If you have any questions regarding the Passover, please feel free to call or email.
May YAHUAH Elohim, Sovereign Most High, bless you and your household with a wonderfully blessed Shabbat and a joyous and meaningful festival season. May He give you complete understanding of His set-apart day and the strength to guard it, in the Name of YAHUSHUAH our Messiah, so be it.
