SABBATH READINGS 4/17/10
April 15, 2010
Praise YAHUAH of Hosts for He is good! For His kindness is everlasting!
Shabbat Shalom, Family!
Many blessings of peace to you in YAHUSHUAH's Name!
This week is a marvelous week in Elohim! We observed Rosh Chodesh on the evening of 4/14, we've counted the omer everyday, and now we have Shabbat! Praise YAH!
We just began the second month of the Hebrew/Scriptural year. In the Scriptures, it's called the month of Ziw. The month of Ziw is a very special month because we have a mitzvah (commandment) to follow every single day--to count the omer. No other month of the year has this special quality. It has a heightened significance as we can see from the Scriptures:
Ber. 7:11--the rain began in Noah's time
Ber. 8:14--the earth was dry
Bem. 9:11--Pesach Sheni (Second Passover)
Bem. 10:11--Cloud raised up and Children of Yisrael departed Sinai w/ all the tribes and banners in order following the ark of the covenant
1 Mel. 6:1 & 2 Dibr. 3:2--Shelomoh began building House of Elohim in Yerushalayim
Ezra 3:8--began work on the Second House of Elohim
Notice that in the second month, both the First House of Elohim and the Second House of Elohim began construction. The building of the Dwelling Place relates to the time of Counting the Omer. We count 50 days from Pesach to Shavuot. At Shavuot, YAHUAH gave His Torah and He gave His Set-Apart Spirit. As we count the 50 days, we are building ourselves into a proper Dwelling Place for Elohim, to be a prepared vessel for His Word and His Spirit. Each day of the Omer--each day of this second month--we spend time in the Word of YAHUAH. Spend special time in prayer. Examine ourselves and work towards improvement. What things in my life need to be changed? What attitudes need adjusting? What behaviors need correcting? What thoughts need renewing?
All 613 commandments of the Torah hang on these two: 1) You shall love YAHUAH your Elohim with all your heart, and with all your being, and with all your might. 2) And you shall love your neighbor as yourself. (Matt. 22:36-40)
To prepare for Shavuot--to build ourselves into a prepared vessel--we must focus on these two and do whatever is within our strength and means to obey. We take ourselves to the limit, putting forth the effort to love YAHUAH and to love our neighbor with our actions. Not just thoughts and intentions and words--but action. Put our love into action and YAHUAH will meet with us. Go to our own limit and YAHUAH carries us the rest of the way.
This second month of Ziw, continue building. Continue working towards improvement. Put forth the effort to change with actions. YAHUAH will meet with us and help us to complete the changes and make them permanent.
Give thanks to YAHUAH, for He is good, for His kindness towards Yisra'el is forever! HalleluYAH! (Ezra 3:11)
Blessed be YAHUAH for He has given us the perfect way of salvation and redemption in our Messiah YAHUSHUAH.
May YAHUAH Elohim, Most High Sovereign of the universe, bless you this day and throughout this month for goodness and prosperity. May He bless the work of your hand, and may He guide you in all your ways. May He open up to you the doors of Heaven for abundant blessing in all areas, and may He give you His knowledge, wisdom, and understanding to live a life well-pleasing to Him. In the Name of YAHUSHUAH Hamashiach, our Set-Apart Sovereign and Master of the universe, so be it. So be it.

BLESSING OF THE NEW MONTH
Blessed are You, YAHUAH our Elohim, Sovereign of the universe, Who has kept us in life, sustained us, and enabled us to reach this season. May it be Your will, YAHUAH our Elohim and the Elohim of our forefathers, that You inaugurate this month upon us for goodness and for blessing. May You give us long life—a life of peace, a life of goodness, a life of blessing, a life of sustenance, a life of physical health, a life in which there is fear of heaven and fear of sin, a life in which there is no shame nor humiliation, a life of wealth and respect, a life in which we have a love of Torah and fear of heaven, a life in which YAHUAH fulfills our heartfelt requests for the good. So be it. Selah. YAHUAH, He Who performed miracles for our forefathers and redeemed them from slavery to freedom, He Who sent His Son Yahushuah to redeem us from the slavery of sin and falsehood—may He redeem us soon and gather in our dispersed from the four corners of the earth; all of Yisrael, becoming brothers. So be it.
May YAHUAH, the Set-Apart One, blessed is He, renew it upon us and upon all His people, the Family of Yisra’el, for goodness and for blessing, for joy and for gladness, for deliverance and for comfort, for good sustenance and for support, for good life and for peace, for good report and for good news, for rains in their proper time, for complete recovery, and for early redemption. So be it.
********************************************** This Shabbat is Day 18 of the Omer. It's not too late to get started if you haven't already. Go to our Resources page and print out a chart for the daily count and Scripture Readings.

So we had to pick up the pace a little. We also have daily Torah readings for Bereshith (Gen.) and Shemoth (Ex.) on our Resources page (the other three books of Torah will be added soon).
